First Impression: L’Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte

After seeing Tati’s review of this a while back I made a mental note of trying it when ever I could get my hands on it. Recently ordered it from Feelunique and I’ve tried it over the past week.  Here’s my initial thoughts.

Comes in a sleek plastic tube that I don’t care that much for. Looks like a giant concealer to me.
Doesn’t have a pump so you’ll have to squeeze out the desired amount on your hand.

It says on the back that it’s medium in texture and has high coverage. It also comes with the claims of a matte result that is supposed to last up til 24 hours, clinically proven to be waterproof and steamproof, all the comfort none of the shine. And perfect coverage, no cakey effect, easy to apply, enriched with perlite technology and reduces appearance of shine up to 24 hours.

Neither runny nor very dense in texture. It’s not a true matte foundation, it’s more semi to velvety matte. As for the coverage claim they missed it severely. It’s more of a light to medium coverage foundation, my skin still peeks through underneath it. And you can’ty build it up, or atleast I can’t, or it’ll look cakey. I tend to set it with powder even though I have dry skin. And let me tell you, at the end of the day (after about 8-10 hours of wear) it looks shiny, rubbed off and klings to my dry patches and looks like unblended patchwork. Not really the look I was going for. I am a bit disappointed in this to be honest. I didn’t have any super high hopes, but after hearing Tati rave about it I thought it would suit even me.

I got the next lightest shade, 11 Vanilla, and it looks a bit too dark for me. I can get away with it but I would wish it to be more yellowtoned than it actually is. I will hang on to this and try it out when the mood strikes. For now, I think I better stick with my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation.
